EDUCATION - School Modules
Project : Parklands Community Primary School - The McAvoy Group
Duration : 8 weeks
Date : Jan 2017 - March 2017
The McAvoy Group, based at Dungannon, Northern Ireland is a true specialist when it comes to 2D & 3D modular off-side building construction.
This year the company had been commissioned to build in their Dungannon factory, a modular school building extending to 1420m2 This extension meant the company had to fabricate 46 units, to make up a new teaching block. Once complete and installed onsite, the school would accomodate 310 children plus staff.
We were initially approached during the last week in December 2017 with the object of documenting the majority of the build. Following discussions with the management it was agreed to install one fully project managed timelapse camera, to be installed by January 3rd and also to utilise a mobile timelapse camera for the interior work. This was the stumbling block, a mobile camera which could be rigged and removed without us being on site. We did manage a way to facilate this happening and it was simple. We trained the site foreman in how to operate a DSLR in manual mode. For each new scene, we created a step by step instruction page which was simple to understand. So all scenes in the video are down to Kevin and his newly developed skill.
The most important feature for the group with our units was the ability for the client, based in Chichester, to watch progress remotely without having to contact McAvoy Group.
The full project ran over 8 weeks with the final vidoe being viewed here - Parklands Community Primary School time lapse video
